Join our 2020 Finger Lakes area black walnut collection program.

Black Squirrel Farms collects and processes the wild black walnuts that grow on our New York State land and those of other area growers.

Our next collection program kicks off in Fall 2020. We provide large burlap bags to those willing to fill them with black walnuts and return them to 590 State Route 14, Penn Yan, NY or 1409 Curtis Co-op Rd. Sterling, NY 13156. We are exploring a limited 2020 at-home pickup service for gathered walnuts. We will pay for walnuts collected, 2020 prices to be announced, and we pay more for those dropped off vs. picked up. We have a limited number of nut rollers to lend to sites with more than one or two producing trees. We are happy to consider customized collection solutions if burlap bags aren't a good fit.

 Join our 2020 program

Joining is free and you will receive 2020 program updates which include information about how to participate. Not ready to join? Ask us a question or let us know you want to talk to someone who participated in our 2019 program.

NEW THIS YEAR: Make your black walnuts available to your community.

Are you expecting lots of 2020 walnuts and not sure you want to collect them yourself? Starting this fall, we'll provide the equipment needed for local groups to volunteer to collect your black walnuts and we'll pay those groups for walnuts collected.

Let us know you might be an interested community fundraiser host.

(Clubs, teams or groups interested in fundraising through black walnut collecting, register here).

Many thanks to our 2019 program members who collectively gathered over three tons of raw walnuts and made our first season a success! We hope you will join us again in 2020; no need to re-register.
