Black Squirrel Farms is the only licensed facility processing black walnuts in NYS.
Stop by our Farm Stand.
Our black walnuts are locally grown, hand-collected every by year by members of our black walnut collection program. We turn those walnuts into useful or delicious household products. Black walnuts taste nothing like the walnuts typically found in the grocery store. This heritage North American tree nut variety has a much stronger taste, with a more floral / fruity / musty / earthy flavor. Our stand is open Wed-Sat 10am-4pm. Not local? No problem! Check out what we have to offer here.

Black Squirrel Farms is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and at the intersection of history, conservation and agriculture. We are leading the regional rediscovery of black walnuts, New York’s native walnut. We're working to develop an ecologically stable nut tree dominated landscape which supports rich and complex communities of plants and animals while providing food, education and recreation for people and we welcome visitors. For an experience available nowhere else, our guided black walnut tour tells the story of a tree that doesn’t grow in the woods, how it fits into our landscape and how we get wild-grown walnuts from tree to table. Tours are fully outdoors and include a chance to crack and maple-glaze your own black walnuts.
